MWMC This Week – Aug 18, 2024

August 18, 2024Let’s Revitalize, Milliken!

13 This is how we know that we live in Him and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. – 1 John 4:13-16

“SetSail” VBS 2024

What an amazing week we had with VBS!  It’s hard to believe it’s over, but thank you to everyone who helped!  We want to give a special thanks to ⁨Jessica and Stevenson Padmore as they⁩ are truly a blessing!  Thank you for all you’ve done! For all the volunteers, your hard-work has paid off because we can see how much our children have enjoyed the time while learning about their relationship with God. Don’t forget to stay behind for a simple BBQ to celebrate.

BACK TO SCHOOL GRADUATION SUNDAY

Join us Sunday, September 1 as we celebrate our graduates of 2024.  We will celebrate their achievements and pray for our graduates and students as they enter the new school year/ workforce.

JESUS IN THE CITY

Saturday, September 7, starting at 12pm, Jesus In The City will be having their 25th Anniversary celebration festival and parade!  We at Milliken Church would encourage you to come and be a part of this grand event as we join together with other believers to lift up Jesus high in our city!  We will need to register to go and time is drawing close! If you want to sign up to attend, we need you to register no later than Aug 25, so that we can determine how many people will be joining us.  Please see Pastor Aza or any Staff member for details on how you can join us for the event!

INTERNATIONAL CELEBRATION WEEKEND

Milliken Church will host an International Weekend of Celebration.  This will be a 2 day event for us to worship together, while celebrating.  Saturday, September 21, we will have our “Fair and Fellowship”.  This is where you will get the opportunity to try diverse foods, see traditional outfits and trinkets from the cultures represented at Milliken.  Then join us on Sunday, September 22, for our World of Worship service, as we join together in worship honouring the cultures and languages represented in our church.
Interested Presenters: If you are interested in creating a booth to represent your ethnicity/culture, please see sister Desiree after service, so that we can reserve space and resources.

Lead “Family” Open Invitation

We are continually looking for family units, meaning you may not have to be related by blood, but by association, to lead the Church in worship. Even if you have participated before, we welcome your participation. Please contact Pastor Stephen to let him know your availability so that we can plan ahead.

First Series for 2024: Revitalization

We encourage our families to go further for 2024 in revitalizing our faith, our families, and our church. Visit our Revitalization Resource Page at https://millikenchurch.org/revitalization-resources/

Worship Arts Team – We Want Your Help!

Have you been looking for a way to serve?  Our Worship Arts team needs you!  We are looking for servant leaders who are willing to serve on our Sunday Morning Worship  and Audio Visual Teams.  If you have the ability to sing, play an instrument (any instrument), or would like to learn how to serve in the Sound booth to learn various skills including sound board training, video/camera operation and working with Worship Tools to present words and scripture on the screen for worship service, please see Pastor Aza or Brother Chris.

Here are 3 reasons why you should join:

  1. A place to develop your gifts and be equipped to serve.
  2. Wonderful team of believers who support each other and pray for each other.
  3. Youth Alert! If you are looking to gain credits toward your volunteer service, this is a great way for you to earn those credits!

Weekday Podcast: 4:19 Fisher of People

Pastor Eddie hosts a weekday podcast called “Fisher of People”. He will be LIVE on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter every Weekday at 4:19 pm to help us focus on becoming dynamic Disciples of Jesus, and how we can lead others to follow Him. Subscribe to our YouTube channel or follow our Facebook and Twitter, and you will be notified when he goes LIVE. Tune in for his refreshing thoughts.

Prayer Requests

Our Prayer group is asking everyone who has prayer needs to put their requests in the prayer request box so that they will be remembered in our weekly prayer meeting. We are here to pray with you and for you. May the Lord encourage you to bring your requests to his alter in Jesus name.

Share Your Testimony

Sharing your experience of how God is present in your life, and the peace that you have found in Christ can encourage others to share their testimony. If you are interested in sharing your testimony during a Sunday Service, please feel free to contact Pastor Eddie or call the Milliken Church at (905) 475-3579 so that we can plan accordingly.

Tithes and Offerings

Tithes and Offerings can be submitted in person or online. If you would like to arrange a personal drop-off aside from Sundays during services, please call (905) 475-3579.
