Urgent RequestPastor Nathan Maskery (Thunder Bay) has an urgent request for lodgings for a very young couple who are about to have their first baby. Unfortunately, mom-to-be has a heart condition that requires this couple to be very close to the Toronto hospital and therefore must have lodging within the city when she delivers. Her due date is December 21, and will likely need to be settled in the city from November 25 onwards for about a month. We really would love to help this young couple as we would be actively showing the love of Jesus. If there is any way you can help, or have leads to for immediate lodging, please contact Marlene Chung.
Offering During COVID-19 Please remember Tithes and Offerings can be submitted in person or online. If you would like to arrange a personal drop off please call 905-475-3579. Leave a message and someone will confirm your arrangements. Drop off times are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 10:00am-1:00pm; Wednesdays, 10:00am-6pm. November: A Call to Prayer: Week 3 – Milliken Church is doing a month of prayer. There is a directive online on how you can pray for the week. Please follow the outline for week 3. Here is how you can pray this week: The Needs of Milliken’s Congregation
- For continued unity of Milliken’s congregation – that we will love one another actively, fervently and with committed hearts
- The wellbeing of our homebound members (Frank Pace, Cluster, Grant Miller, Violet)
- Healing for those experiencing physical pain
- Suitable employment for those seeking employment and financial stability
- Encouragement for those who are lonely, in despair and in need of assurance and hope
- Continued spiritual growth of the congregation, trust in God, continued focus on prayer, reading and regular meditation on God’s Word
Bible Study – Getting Back to the Basics You are invited to join our online Bible Study Seminar which will take place weekly on Wednesdays at 7:30PM starting on November 25, 2020. During this seminar, we will study about the heart of this church program – The Bible. This study is based on The Bible Course which explores the BIG STORY that unites all 66 books of the Bible.
The Bible is a big and complicated book to read and for many it can be difficult to know where to start. Maybe you’ve been part of a Bible study group and want to build your confidence so you can study the Bible on your own, or maybe you need help connecting together the bits you’ve been reading. Wherever you are in your Bible reading journey, this study has something new to teach. Join us by calling the church office at 905-475-3579.
Young Adults Our Young Adults—College/Career & Family Ministries will be having Small Group Zoom Meetings every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month at 7:30pm. We are doing a short study on the book of Hosea called “God’s Pursuit of Us”. To join this study, please leave a message for Natasha or Pastor Aza at 905-475-3579.
A MESSAGE FROM MWMC LBA AND PASTORAL SEARCH COMMITTEE
Greetings Milliken Brothers and Sisters,
A few months ago, we communicated to you that we were sensing God’s direction to pause the Pastoral Search. As we wait for God’s leading in this matter, the Committee would like to take the opportunity to reach out to you in the form of a survey for your input and comments regarding our next Senior Pastor.
The survey will be sent out in the coming week and we ask that you prayerfully respond to questions.
To ensure everyone has the opportunity to share their input, we will be sending out a print copy by mail and an online version will also be available. Please use only one method to provide your response by Dec 15, 2020.
Thank you for your unwavering prayers and support.
