Director Cheryl Lindquist wrote recently with an update on the work of this local ministry…

Dear Milliken Church Friends,

In keeping with the social distancing guidelines set forth by the Municipal, Provincial, and Federal authorities, our leadership team closed our physical building in mid-March. We are still very much in contact with our clients and available for anyone who reaches out by phone or social media. We have been able to continue our services and programs because of technology!

We have also started a “Practical Support Program” through a fundraising campaign called “Operation Porch Pick-Up.” We encourage monetary donations, that allow us to purchase and assemble uniform packets of necessary items babies and their mothers use regularly. We assemble these care packages based on pre-arranged requests by our clients, who then pick them up from our back porch. This allows us to order only what is needed, give all of it away, and encourage social distancing at the same time. Safe, simple and (hopefully) sustainable! Currently there are 98 babies and toddlers enrolled in our program. So we are reaching out to all our city’s churches in hopes that you will support Operation Porch Pick Up – particularly as a charitable “Mother’s Day” gift on this week leading up to Mother’s Day itself!

We are so thankful to count Milliken Wesleyan Methodist as one of our supporting churches year after year. Because of you, even though our physical doors are closed, the love of Jesus Christ continues to go out from this place. It is a privilege to bring care and blessing to new parents. It is also an honour to bring a message of hope and healing to those struggling after an abortion experience. Thank you for praying and assisting us during these times.

-Cheryl Lindquist.

[Note: We encourage you to make a donation to the Centre by visiting their website at: Or, through your regular giving to the church, listing your designated gift for the Centre. Thank you.]

Online Groups We are glad to continue offering online weekly meetings for children, youth and young adults at the times listed further below. If you would like to be added to any of these groups, contact one of the pastors or the church office. Thank you for reaching out to others during these days of social distancing.

Local Church Conference (normally in mid-May) has been re-scheduled to Wednesday, July 8th, at 7pm. Please reserve this date on your calendar. All members are encouraged to participate. Details will be established as the time draws nearer. Thank you.
