Fourth Sunday of Advent

Christ is coming! The colour blue on our altar table signals us to “look up” (to the sky) for our redemption draws near. We long to be ready for His appearing and share in the joy He promises His people. We pray that you will sense the peace of Jesus’ presence as we worship today.

We invite you to worship with us this morning as our Milliken Children & Youth share their program: “Straight Outta Bethlehem” composed by Christy & Daniel Semsen. May the Lord inspire you through this presentation.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship will begin at 7pm on Tuesday evening. Come hear the Nativity Story again and worship Jesus with us. We will also receive a special Christmas Eve Offering for the Kamakwie Wesleyan Hospital in Sierra Leone. Thank you, in advance for your generosity.

Thank You to those who traveled downtown on Wednesday to support the Christmas Program of Waypoint Wesleyan. Next Sunday Revs. David & Olivia Philips will be our guest preachers and share more about this new church planting work now ready to launch here in Toronto.

Church Office Closure Please note that our church office will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday of this week in observance of the holidays. If you have a pastoral need, please contact Pastor Cymone at 647-447-1714 or Pastor Axel at 416-578-2208.

2020 Offering Envelope Sets are now available to those currently using this system. Pick up your prepared set at the back Sanctuary Table. If you would like to begin using this method of giving, please speak with Sathi Selliah today.

How To Pray Next month we will offer our first online topical book study! This will include three sessions, based on the book: How To Pray by R.A. Torrey. Stop at the Information Desk to order your copy, or speak wtih Susan Thomas to learn more.

Burkina Faso

Last week we received an update from Missionaries Windel & Yolie Etienne in Burkina Faso…

Hello, Dear Friends!

We hope that you are well. This month God has done great things for us. We are joyful and grateful. Yolie and I have had the pleasure of hosting our mentor Rev. Carl Gilles for a few days. He and his wife, Maya, hosted me for more than 2 years in their home in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This past week, it was my turn to do so here in Ouagadougou. This visit was a real blessing to my family. While here, Rev. Gilles met with our Wesleyan leaders, visiting the churches and touring the capital to get a sense of our environment and working conditions.

During this time, we also received the joy of our first child’s birth. Our baby was born on December 4th at 1:57am, without any complications. We have named him “Hudson” after Missionary Hudson Taylor. He and his mother are doing well. This is amazing, when we consider how we only learned of our pregnancy when Yolie went in to take her yellow fever vaccination last summer!

Here is a picture of us with Rev. Gilles and a picture of Baby Hudson. Thank you for your fervent prayers and for honoring your financial commitments to the Lord for our work here. From the bottom of our hearts we wish you a Merry Christmas.

Love, Windel & Yolie
