Sierra Leone
This week we received a special good news update on the work of the Kamakwie Wesleyan Hospital…
Dear Milliken Church Friends,
A few months ago we appealed to you for financial assistance with the shipment of a large supply of pharmaceuticals that was being donated to our medical ministries in Sierra Leone. Thank you for the funds you gave! They made a real difference for us all. Our hospital doctor was able to “order” many of the drugs most needed for our patients. And just a few weeks ago, the medicines arrived! What a powerful and encouraging day it was for all the staff!
The shipment included many boxes for Kamakwie Wesleyan Hospital, and additional boxes for the medical clinics in Gbendembu, Kissy, and Madina! The hospital staff and World Hope staff members unloaded the deliveries with earnest gratitude. The delivery truck had a hard time going over the very bad roads. It took them over 24 hours to arrive because of breakdowns, bad weather, and difficult roads. Many staff members stayed after working time to help unload the and quickly get all the boxes into the hospital.
We are so grateful for the love and caring represented in the boxes of drugs and supplies. Because of this, we will be able to treat many more patients and take proper precautions as we deal with infectious (and potentially dangerous) illnesses. Attached are some pictures of our joyful reception work when the supplies arrived.
Thank you for your partnership with us. It is a welcomed and beautiful gift.
-Warmly, Carrie Jo Cain
