Ryerson University
Evangelist Jessica Barnett serves with Power to Change on the campus of Ryerson University. She recently wrote with an update on this ministry…
Dear Milliken Church Friends,
This past month I had the privilege of discipling three young women: Alethea, Tiffany & Glacy. They are growing to understand their faith and grow in their ability to share Jesus with others! Typically we train new believers by going out on campus with them, and asking students in public if they would be open to talking about God, spirituality and/or religion. This style of evangelism is strong and courage building. However, it becomes hard to transfer into the workplace after graduation, so it has limited value. Pray that we can find a training model that will take young believers even farther in their evangelistic efforts.
A few weeks ago, the Ryerson University Student Services Office invited all faith-based campus groups to set up display booths in the main campus building! It was an amazing day. I learned many things about how students process their experiences and their inner need for spiritual depth. Please join me in praying that all who came through our exhibits will grow increasingly unsatisfied with religion and increasingly eager to experience the reality of Jesus!
Finally, let me also invite you to attend our Power to Change Fellowship Dinner next month. It will take place on Saturday evening, April 13th at the Brighton Convention Center very close to Milliken Church! It would be a joy and honor to see you there.
Thank you. – Jess
