Toronto, Ontario

Revs David & Olivia Phillips are working to begin a fellowship group that will become a new church in Toronto. They wrote this week with an update…

Dear Milliken Church Friends,

Our mission here in Toronto is to reach our community by creating space where people encounter Christ in their daily lives. We want to do this through our dedication to co-vocational ministry – intentionally using our secular jobs to create awareness and minister in the neighborhood of Bloordale Village.

Our immediate neighborhood is comprised of young families, 55% of whom identify as LGBTQ2+ and an even greater percentage are heavily immersed in gaming culture! The larger neighborhood around us includes first and second generation Canadians from Portugal, Brazil, India, Afghanistan & Korea. We are finding a great deal of interest from our neighborhood young adults.

We are currently working to increase our financial support base. Please pray for us as we continue our current employment our community building work, and our development of fundraising partnerships. Your congregation has constantly shown us love and support through your prayers and communication with us. Thank you.

May the Lord bless your ministry as you also build His kingdom here in our great city.

Love, Olivia & David
