Kingdomtide

During these weeks the Church around the world seeks God’s glory and powerful presence to renew the earth. The color green on our altar table reminds us that Christ’s Kingdom continues to grow. We pray that you will choose to enter His blessed Kingdom as you worship with us.

Sunrise Nursing Home Today we will make our monthly service trip to encourage the residents at this local home. New attendees are always welcomed and wanted. Speak with Ho Kwong (Chris) Lai today if you would like to participate.

The Fall Colours Bus Trip departs early tomorrow. And today is the last day you can reserve your seat. Speak with Satie Pokhai if you would like to attend. The cost is $95 per person. Thank You.

Best Years Fellowship will host their monthly meeting this Tuesday at 10:30 am. Our guest speaker will be Constable Amanda Bitter from the York Region Police Agency. She will share on the topics of internet safety, home safety, crime prevention and elder abuse prevention. This meeting will also include a catered pizza lunch for all who attend. Plan to attend and bring two friends!

Halloween Supercharged will take place here in our church parking lot and gym on Halloween night (October 31st) from 5 pm until 8 pm. We are seeking both candy donations and volunteers to assist with some carnival-style activities. Speak with Pastor Cymone today to learn how you can help.

Thunder Bay, Ontario

Pastor Nathan Maskery leads the church planting team of Transformation Wesleyan Church in Thunder Bay. He wrote this week with an update…

Hey Milliken Church,

How are you? We here in Thunder Bay are very encouraged. We feel momentum in the life of our congregation. We have had 60 people in our services for seven straight Sundays!

Last Sunday my Dad visited from Atlantic Canada. He came to share his testimony of how Jesus saved him while he was in prison years ago. After the service, we served a free Thanksgiving meal to everyone. There were over 130 people here for the meal. Praise the Lord!

We have not even been open for a full year yet, and we have over 20 volunteers who want to serve in our special outreach events. One of the new challenges the Lord has helped us through was a change in our volunteer staff. Two months ago our children’s ministry director had to move away. But God was already making a new plan.

One month before that happened, I met a young lady named Hanna Alexander when I was speaking at the Newbrook Wesleyan Camp in Alberta. She recently agreed to move here, and start over, volunteering as part of our team! She will arrive here on October 19th.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers and encouragement. We are excited for what God is doing and looking forward to more adventures!

– Pastor Nathan Maskery
