Season of Pentecost

During these weeks the Church around the world celebrates the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in our midst. He draws us in faith and transforms to become more like Jesus Christ. May you sense the Spirit’s work in and around you as we worship God today.

VBS Worker Training will take place tomorrow evening, Monday July 16th at 7pm. All volunteers are encouraged to attend. We will walk through many important details about the schedule and program format. If you have not yet indicated interest in participating, please speak with Pastor Cymone today.

Time to Pray Each Wednesday at 7:15pm we gather to offer praises, thanks and intercessions to the Lord in a time of prayer and worship. If you have a request or praise, please write it on a card from the pew rack in front of you, and place this in the church-shaped box on the far right of the platform. Every request will be remembered.

Vacation Bible School will begin next Sunday evening at 6:30pm. Register today using the insert in the bulletin. Please consider which children you could recruit to be part of this fun and meaningful ministry for children and their parents!

Toronto

Revs David & Olivia Phillips recently moved to Toronto to begin a new Wesleyan ministry. They write this week with an update…

Hello, Brothers & Sisters at Milliken Church!

We have now been in the city for just over a month. What a crazy time it has been! Our first weekend here was our neighborhood annual block party! This allowed us to get to know some of the others who live on our street and enjoy a great time of connection. We are amazed at how God has been providing for us.

Shane and Sarah, who will join us in August, have been blessed in their fundraising as well, making their coming move much more doable. At the end of July Shane will come to look for an apartment. We will also be helping him look for employment that week. Your prayers would be appreciated as we hunt for both of these needs in that family’s arrangements. Olivia has found a full-time morning job. This is helpful to our budget and allows evenings to be open for ministry.

On Monday nights we are planning what will become our first outreach events and small groups, in the fall. Because of Olivia’s work we have also been able to start connecting with the gaming community. We hope to start building relationships. This is a key part of our organic outreach that we are very eager to start.

We thank you for all your prayers.

– David & Olivia
