Season of Pentecost

During these weeks the Church around the world celebrates the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in our midst. He draws us in faith and transforms to become more like Jesus Christ. May you sense the Spirit’s work in and around you as we worship God today.

Sunrise Nursing Home Service Today is our monthly time of ministry at the local nursing home.  You are invited to join the ministry team – even for a first time!  Speak with Chris Lai after the service to learn how you can participate.

Tai Chi Class is open to everyone on Tuesdays at 6:30pm.  Come learn the moves and find that your flexibility and strength is increased.  Newcomers are always welcome.      Summer Prayer Walk Next Sunday we will hold our annual prayer walk through the immediate neighborhood.  Dress casually and light to participate in this time of blessing to all who live nearby.

Vacation Bible School will begin two week from tonight.  More volunteers are needed for this meaningful ministry with children.  Please speak with Pastor Cymone today and learn how you can bless the lives of children by participating.

Japan

Missionary Robin White serves in Nagoya, Japan, with Global Partners.  Last week he posted the following update…

Hi Everyone,

I hope your summer is going well.  Thank you for your prayers over the past month!  In June I went on two ministry trips: to Shimoda & Matsuyama.  Both weekends included preaching and music duties.  Thankfully, God strengthened and used me, as guests heard the Gospel and churches were encouraged.  As a bonus, I got to see some beautiful scenery along the way.  I am not in my six weeks of regular English teaching duties.

I just moved into a house, and our local church is embarking on a building project.  Your continued prayers would be appreciated during this time of change and decision-making.  Please pray specifically for the following events on my calendar in July: leading musical worship (July 11th), leading English Bible Studies (July 12th & 22nd), preaching and sharing music (on July 15th), leading children’s camp (on July 27th & 28th), and hosting a English Ministry Grand Finale event (on July 29th).

Your prayers and ongoing support always encourage and help me!  Thank you for everything.  I look forward to what God is planning for the season ahead.

– Robin
