MWMC This Week – June 3, 2018

Trinity Sunday

Today Christians around the world affirm what God has revealed about His true nature. God exists and works as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This confirms and models the life of Divine fellowship. We are also invited to live in holy fellowship. May you sense God and His truly good nature as we worship together today.

Sunrise Nursing Home Service will take place today at 1:30pm. Come and bless the lives of these homebound people as we share Christ’s love. Speak with Chris Lai to learn how you can participate.

PrayOn Walk This evening we invite you to return to the church at 6:30pm as we take time to walk through our neighbourhood and offer prayers for our neighbours. We will also intercede for the people of this riding and the fast-approaching provincial election. Bring your most comfortable walking shoes and your most welcoming smile!

LCC Minutes from last Wednesday evening have been printed and are available at the back Sanctuary table. We invite you to review these and continue to pray for our church as we press forward in the Spirit’s guidance.

Wesleyan Life The spring issue of our denominational magazine has arrived. Please pick up your free copy of this inspiring magazine from the small table in the foyer.

Wave Weekend for all youth will take place on Friday, June 15th. Please encourage all teens you know (from any church or no church) to join us. Speak with Pastor Axel today to learn more.

Toronto

Revs David & Olivia Phillips have move to Toronto!  We are informed that they arrived yesterday (June 2nd), and are now unpacking in their apartment on the west side of downtown Toronto.

During the past several months, Dave & Olivia have been actively maintained a social media presence via facebook.  Please look them up at: Waypoint Wesleyan Church.  Mark this site as a new favorite and stay tuned for their updates, prayer requests, praises, and even posted devotional sermons for your encouragement!

Please pray for this ministry as Dave & Olivia start to build friendships and a network of contacts with those they meet in their neighbourhood.  This innovative method of starting a new church will involve the start of an income generating business which supplies games for group events.  Some of our Milliken Church members have already committed to provide financial and physical assistance to Waypoint Wesleyan, as possible.  We also recognize that our prayers for this couple [and their later-to-arrive comrades] will be a most powerful way we can assist this new ministry.

Let us pray that the Lord will bring Dave & Olivia the people and resources they will need to see this vision become real.  Let us also pray for spiritually curious and receptive hearts in all whom they will call neighbour, acquaintance and new friend in the weeks to come!  Thank you!
