Nicaragua

Missionaries Ryan & Sarah Schmitz serve with Global Partners in the city of Matagalpa, Nicaragua. They recently provided an update…

Dear Milliken Church Friends, February and March were immensely productive months of ministry here in Matagalpa! We hosted five mission teams from Canada & the US. They invested deeply, loved sacrificially, and gave generously to our family, to the Las Colinas School and the Amigos del Ray Church. We are blown away by the commitment and support.

The Gospel has been shared, a new parsonage built, Sunday School classrooms built, a library and elementary classrooms are in progress, a brand new computer lab equipped, teachers and pastors encouraged, and sanitary water storage containers installed in the community! Even students who have nothing received uniforms, supplies, backpacks and much more. Praise the Lord for these expressions of Christian love and blessing.

However, the last ten days have been particularly stressful for the nation of Nicaragua. Civil unrest and protests against the government have mushroomed. This is a very uncertain time. We are safe, but we encourage you to pray for this country and its people. Especially in this delicate time. Jesus is truly alive and present here. We know He can bring peace, compassion and empathy for all who are in distress or trouble.

Thank you for remembering us all in your prayers.
