Ryerson University (Toronto)

Evangelist Jessica Barnett serves with Power to Change Ministries on the campus of Ryerson in downtown Toronto. She recently wrote with an update on the ministry…

Dear Milliken Church Family,

It is beautiful to see a student come to Christ here at Ryerson. And it is exciting to see these new believers invite others to consider faith in Jesus. Rozyl is a young woman I helped lead to Christ during her Sophomore year. She has been in my discipleship group for many months.

Last week she sent me the following message…

“Dear Jessica, I think my friend just agreed to accept Jesus. Her name is Caroline and we were in a class together last fall. Last week she told me that she calls herself a Christian because all of her friends said they are, but she doesn’t really understand what that means. I asked Caroline if I could show her what Christians believe. She wanted to learn, so I shared the Knowing God Personally tract with her. After we read it, I asked what she thought Jesus’ death on the cross meant, for her! Please pray for Caroline. I think she is very close to accepting Christ and becoming a true Christian. Thanks! Rozyl

As you can see, God is at work through this new believer! God is moving because we pray! Please pray with me for both Rozyl and Caroline. Let me also invite you to attend our Power to Change Ryerson Dinner on Saturday, April 21st. Pastor George hopes to bring a Milliken Church group to experience this inspiring evening. Many of our students will share their stories.

Thank you again and God bless you.

– Jess

Best Years Fellowship will hold their next session this Tuesday (March 20th) at 10:30am.  Our special presenter will be Noor Ratansi-Iamurri from the Canadian Hearing Society.  Bring a friend and share in the lunch that follows the meeting.

Close to Christ is the theme for our Thursday Lenten Worship Services taking place 9am and 7:15pm.  Join us in these meaningful times of worship, sharing, prayer and holy communion.

Multi-Church Movie Night This Friday (March 23rd) we will host a special screening of Adam’s Testament, a full-length, feature film that reflects Jesus’ parable of the Prodigal Son.  This spiritual-warfare themed movie will include a special Q&A with the lead actor who will be in attendance!  This film is recommended for persons ages 12 and older, as it includes frightening scenes.  Our showing will be free, but free-will donations will be accepted.

Easter Lily Memorials can be ordered beginning today.  If you would like to place an order, please write your name on a giving envelope, along with the name of the person being remembered and your relationship to them.  Place $10 in the envelope and drop this in the collection plate during the offering.  All memorials will be printed on an insert in the bulletin on Easter Day.
