Nicaragua

Ryan & Sarah Schmitz serve as Global Partners missionaries in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. This week, they wrote with an update on their work…

Dear Milliken Church Family,

Our transition to Matagalpa has gone very smoothly. Thank you for praying about the many details it has taken to make the change. We have moved here to assist the development of a high school, and to prepare new leaders for the planting of churches in the region.

We have been enjoying the temperature difference. It is mild and a bit cooler here in the higher-altitude interior of the country. But we miss the access we had to many things in the capital city of Managua. It was also sad to say goodbye to our several friends there. However, the work of the Los Colinas School here is going well.

Two Canadian Mission Teams have already visited to help us with construction/remodeling projects. And we have received confirmation that another group will be visiting in the spring! Praise the Lord for those who give and serve so that this work can expand!

May the Lord bless both the givers and the gifts! Thank you for partnering with us in bringing the Gospel to the Nica people.

-Ryan, Sarah, Micah, Eva, Abel & Esme Schmitz

The Upper Room & Light from the Word are here! The spring issue of these daily devotionals have arrived and can be picked up from the back Sanctuary table. One per household please, this allows others to benefit as well.

Close to Christ is the theme for our Thursday Lenten Worship Services taking place 9am and 7:15pm. Join us in these meaningful times of worship, sharing, prayer and holy communion.

Bridal Shower All ladies are invited to a bridal show being planned for our own Cassandra Arcentales this Saturday (March 10th) at 12:30pn. Cassandra has a wedding gift registry at Ikea. Come express the joy and love of this occasion.

Multi-Church Movie Night On Friday, March 23rd, we will host a special screening of Adam’s Testament, a full-length, feature film retelling Jesus’ parable of the Prodigal Son. This spiritual-warfare themed movie will include a special Q&A with two of the actors who will attend our screening! This film is recommended for persons ages 12 and older, as it includes frightening scenes. Our showing will be free, but free-will donations will be accepted.

Spring Ahead! Don’t forget to put your clocks forward one hour next Saturday evening before bed!
