Toronto

Revs David & Olivia Phillips are aspiring church planters who are making plans to start a new Wesleyan Church here in Toronto. This week, they sent a message of greeting and update…

Dear Milliken Church Friends, We are so grateful for your interest in helping us with our calling to plant a Wesleyan Church in Toronto. We can hardly wait to see it begin. Here is a short update on our plans…

We are pleased to announce that this month we received confirmation from Shane & Sarah Salkey that they will join our team to start the ministry. Their process of discerning God’s will over the past three months led them to this decision. (This is the young couple who visited your church along with us in late December.)

They are parents of two beautiful children: Shadrach and Saryu, who are also becoming excited about their future adventure of moving to “the big city.” Shane will soon graduate from Kingswood University. He loves music and looks forward to assisting with this part of our work. Shane & Sarah are also big basketball fans who will be glad to be in “Raptor Country!”

Thank you to all of you for your kindness, love, and encouragement during the past several weeks. You have been an incredible witness to the love of God and His kingdom. Our fundraising continues to go well, and we are gaining prayer support. Your congregation is a wonderful, visible example of Christ to us!

– David & Olivia Phillips

Family Winter Outing Families with children will travel to downtown Toronto this afternoon for a group trip to Ripley’s Aquarium. Speak with Hyesung Kim to learn more.

Close to Christ is the theme for our Thursday Lenten Worship Services taking place 9 am and 7:15 pm. Join us in these meaningful times of worship, sharing, prayer and holy communion.

Black History Event Fellowship Baptist Church invites everyone to their 10th Annual time of celebrating Black history and culture this Saturday (March 3rd) at 6 pm. Mr. Andrew Nunes will be the special speaker. The church is located on Kennedy Road, between Dennison Road and the Milliken Mills High School building.

Bridal Shower All ladies are invited to a bridal show being planned for our own Cassandra Arcentales on Saturday, March 10th at 12:30pn. Cassandra has a wedding gift registry at Ikea. Come express the joy and love of this occasion.

Multi-Church Movie Night On Friday, March 23rd, we will host a special screening of Adam’s Testament, a full-length, feature film retelling Jesus’ parable of the Prodigal Son. This spiritual-warfare themed movie will include a special Q&A with two of the actors who will attend our screening! This film is recommended for persons ages 12 and older, as it includes frightening scenes. Our showing will be free, but free-will donations will be accepted.
