Pastoral Search update
Since receiving Pastor Pryor’s resignation, the Church Board (functioning as a Pastoral Search Committee) has been meeting regularly to discuss and arrive at a plan to hire a new Senior Pastor.
We are being guided in this endeavour by Rev. Eric Hallett, Superintendent of the Central Canada District. We have placed ads on The Wesleyan Church website (www.wesleyan.org) and the Tyndale University & Seminary managed website (www.christiancareerscanada.com). To date, we have received 12 resumes. We will start the interview process next week, and with God’s leading, we hope to present a potential pastor candidate within a suitable time frame.
During this time, we are also making arrangements with other clergy in the area and within our church to provide pastoral services after Pastor Pryor’s departure until his replacement takes office. These ministers, along with volunteers from our congregation will assist in providing our Sunday Worship Services (in person and online) and other mid-week activities.
Plans are also being put in place to ensure that the Church Office is open on a regular basis. Please continue to fast and pray along with us for God’s gracious guidance as we move forward through this process. Thank you, and God bless you.
Time to Pray Our weekly, evening prayer ministry continues this Tuesday at 7:15pm. To receive the invitation link to the virtual prayer room, contact the Church Office, or e-mail Pastor Pryor.
Summer Saturday School will begin July 3rd. You are invited to join this 8-week online class every Saturday morning at 10am. In it we will look at how God interacted with some of the patriarchs and prophets – and how He also interacts with us! God chooses the lowly and insignificant to do wonderful things. He can do the same in us when we listen. Our first session is titled: Meeting God. We will look at Moses & Isaiah’s relationship with God and its effect. Adults of all ages are welcomed to participate.
Virtual Vacation Bible School will begin its online bi-weekly sessions next Sunday at 11am! Space is limited in this virtual program. Contact Pastor Cymone to learn more.
Next Sunday our short, Sunday Morning Devotional Services continue. Each gathering will be 45 minutes long, and has a maximum capacity of 75 attendees. Those who wish to attend must call in advance to reserve a space. Call the church office at 905-475-3579 during business hours, or 416-434-5082 on evenings to make this reservation. Adherence to physical distance and safety protocols remains very important. We also honour the choice of those who choose to stay home at this time. Sunday Morning Devotional Videos will continue to be sent to those who do not RSVP to attend a gathered Sunday Devotional Service. Thank you.
Local Church Conference will take place in the Sanctuary on Wednesday, July 8th at 7pm. All members are encouraged to participate in this important meeting. We will celebrate all the Lord has done in our fellowship during the past year, and make important decisions about the year ahead. Advance packets for the meeting can be picked up at the back Sanctuary table.
