Ryerson University

Evangelist Jessica Barnett serves with Power to Change Ministries at Ryerson Univeristy in downtown Toronto. She wrote this week with an update…

Dear Milliken Church Family,

This is a time of uncertainty for our ministry at Ryerson, because of our connection with the Ryerson Student Union. Through this collective, we receive funds, space on campus for events, and official status as a club. However the University administration recently fired the Student Union Board, which has left all of the clubs in an uncertain position. We could lose our legal rights to be on campus, or we could be reinstated.

Please pray for us during this period. We believe God could use this internal situation in His favor and for His glory. Thankfully, this hasn’t hindered our ministry with students yet, which is good news.

Please also pray for my husband, Henry, and I. We plan to return to Morocco this spring for a six week mission project. We will travel with fellow staff and students to share the Gospel as part of the “Desert Rain” program. If nothing disrupts this plan (like the growing Coronavirus threat), we will make this journey in May. God bless you for your ongoing support and interest in this ministry.

Professor Matthew Friedman Today we welcome Professor Friedman from Kingswood University as our guest speaker. Kingswood is our official Bible & Christian Ministries college in Canada, located in Sussex, New Brunswick. We appreciate its vital ministry and have been blessed by the service of its alumni. Please make time to greet Professor Friedman after the service today.

Lenten Midweek Services will take place this Wednesday at 9am and 7:15pm. These duplicate services will include Holy Communion and devotional words of guidance following our Lenten Series theme.

First Friday Prayer Vigil We invite you to take a prayer slip from the back Sanctuary table today, and remember the concerns and praises for our several regional church plants this Friday. Thank you.

Daylight Savings Time will begin next weekend. Please remember to turn your clocks forward one hour this Saturday night before going to sleep.
