Burkina Faso

Missionaries Windell & Yolie Etienne serve as Global Partners in Burkina Faso. This week they wrote with an update…

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

The Scriptures say that when Jesus “saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd…” Burkina Faso is a country where national mourning is declared almost every week due to recurrent terrorist attacks on innocent civilians. At every corner there are poor beggars, especially children, sent there by adults. And many leaders here make every conversation about money, building temples, or buying motorcycles.

This is what we face in our ministry every day. We often feel helpless in the face of the multitude of human needs. But the Lord calls us to build relationships and make strategic plans for growth in His kingdom here. We want to see lives transformed; men, women, children and young people passionate about Jesus. Please continue to pray for the Burkinabe people. We want to work in harmony, respect and love with the leaders here. And we look forward to the final, legal recognition of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church (our Burkinabe denominational name) in the near future.

Thank you so much for your support and prayers!

-Windell & Yolie
