Sunrise Nursing Home Service will take place today at 1:30pm. Please join our ministry of care just a few kilometers away. Speak with Chris Lai if you can participate.

Family Ministries Meeting & Lunch will take place in the gym after the Worship Service this morning. We encourage all families with children to join us for this important conversation about future children’s programs.

Baptism Service This evening at 6pm we will hold a Service of Baptism at the Fellowship Baptist Church (7478 Kennedy Rd) just north of Dennison. Please join us as 3 of our regular attendees make their public expression of faith and enter into the new life of confirmed faith in Jesus. (This will be a joint service with the Korean Wesleyan Church.)

Our Sympathies extend to Roselle Donaldson at the death of her daughter, Elizabeth, last week. All final arrangements will take place at the Ajax Crematorium & Visitation Centre (384 Finley Ave, in Ajax). Visitation hours will be on Friday (August 16th) from 6pm-9pm, and Saturday (August 17th) beginning at 12pm. A memorial service will begin at 1pm. Please remember Sister Roselle and her son in your prayers.

All Church Baby Shower We will host an all-church baby shower for the Phillips Family on Saturday, August 24th, at 11:30am. Please plan to attend. Gift ideas include: grocery gift cards, Walmart gift cards, Pampers brand diapers, and clothes of any size (with green and blue as the family’s preferred colors). Speak with Natasha Bramble to learn more.

Ukraine

This week we received a letter from World Hope Canada, with a unique invitation….

Dear Milliken Church Friends,

Since 2005, we have been involved in ministry which rescues orphans from human traffickers in Odessa, Ukraine. There we built two vital facilities: (1) Hope House, a residency and vocational skill training centre for girls, and (2) The First Step Centre, where street children come to receive daytime shelter and vital resources – like hygiene care, including haircuts for lice, toothbrushes, showers, and clean clothes.

Three months from now we will host a “Vision Tour” for those who would like to learn more about this amazing ministry. Our tour group will be led by Pastor Ben Last from the Southgate Wesleyan Church in Kemptville, Ontario. Pastor Ben has visited these ministry centres twice and has a great heart for this ministry. The cost of the trip is $3,000 (Canadian), which includes the flights, insurance, in-country costs, food and lodging, transportation, translators and a few special tourist activities! We will leave on Friday, November 22nd and return on Friday, November 29th.

Perhaps God is calling you to engage with ministry that rescues children from the slavery of human trafficking. We would love to see you there! Our space is limited to eight participants. Speak with Pastor Pryor if you sense God’s leading to go!

Thank you.

With hope,

Tanya Nance

Director of World Hope Canada
