Season of Pentecost

Thank You to those who stayed for lunch last Sunday, in support of our youth fundraiser. This was a great encouragement and help. Thank you also to the Young Adult Fellowship Group who assisted our teens in preparing and serving the food.

Vacation Bible School begins tonight at 6:30pm. We encourage you to bring all the children you know, ages 3 to 11 to this great program. Our parenting class will begin at 7pm. Please pray for this ministry program and for great responsiveness to the Gospel as it is shared this week!

MidWeek Mission Meeting On Wednesday, July 31st, Pastor Nathan Maskery from Transformation Wesleyan Church is coming to visit. He will share a special presentation at 7:15pm in the Fellowship Room. Please mark your calendar now and come learn how God is transforming lives in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Baby Shower Next month we will host an all-church baby shower for Toronto Church Planters David & Olivia Phillips. Please reserve 11:30am on your calendar for Saturday, August 24th, to attend. Information about the gift registry is coming soon. We look forward to showing our love and support to this young family and the bold, important ministry they are striving to create in our city.

Ryerson University

We recently received an update from Evangelist Jessica Barnett and her service with Power to Change Ministries on the downtown Toronto campus of Ryerson…

Dear Milliken Church Family,

Each year all of us who work in campus ministry work to promote the mission and raise support for our work. We praise God that He has provided 89% of our annual support. And during the next month, we expect to reach our goal. Thank you for praying that God would provide for us and we can start the school year fully funded.

Our work on the Ryerson campus begins August 19th. We will prepare a staff team for September. This year we are narrowing our purpose to “help students live an integrated life and build missional relationships.” This focus will call new Christians to live in alignment with what Jesus taught so that they will have power and integrity to encourage others to do the same. Please pray that God will give us wisdom, discernment, and clear direction.

Lastly, we are excited to share that Henry and I are expecting a second baby girl in mid-November. We are excited to begin the journey of parenthood again. Please pray that the baby will be healthy and the deliver goes smoothly but most importantly that this child will come to know and love Jesus.

Thank you.

– Jess
