Family Movie Night Families of all ages are invited to join us this Friday evening, August 24th at 6:30 pm for a free showing of Prince Caspian. This action/adventure film is based on the Chronicles of Narnia book of the same name, written by C.S. Lewis. Come take in its excellent and compelling message.

Time to Pray Join us for a time of prayer and rejoicing this Wednesday evening at 7:15 pm in the Fellowship Room. If you have a prayer need, we invite you to write it on a Response Card from the Pew Rack in front of you. Place it in the church shaped box on the far right of the platform. All requests and praises will be remembered this week.

Thunder Bay Mission Plans are in place for our team of four to make this journey to serve. Please pray for Axel Kazadi, Jeanine Luke, Montrice Martin & Pat Pitre as they go. Our prayers and school supply gifts have gone before us. We are excited about what the Lord will do through our team. And we thank you for your generous support of this outreach endeavour.

Japan

Japan Missionary Robin White serves with Global Partners in Nagoya, Japan. He recently wrote with an update…

Hey Everyone!

Summertime is always a time of special ministry opportunities, adventures and this year is no exception. Last month I visited churches in three far-flung areas: Shimoda, Matsuyama & Morioka leading in music, preaching and kids ministry. All three churches were hosting community outreach programs when I visited. We shared the Gospel with many guests. Please pray for these churches as they follow up with those who attended.

Two weeks ago, we held our English Club Grand Finale Event. It was the conclusion of eight years of teaching English. I shared the message of God’s love with them again and am thankful for the over 100 people I have had the privilege of teaching about Christ through this ministry. I am so grateful for the privilege of connecting with so many people over the years, especially since most have never heard of Christ or the Church.

What’s next for me? I will be staying here but turning my creative energy and missionary service toward “Magna” (Japanese comics). This will be an online outreach platform that fuses by creative passion and missionary service. I hope to build the foundation for this manga ministry project by the time my current missionary term ends in June of next year. During the months ahead, I will send you more specific details about this project, and updates. Please pray for me as I go through this time of planning, praying and transition. I will need clarity of vision and direction as I step out in faith in this new chapter of ministry.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support and encouragement.

– Robin
