Season of Pentecost

During these weeks the Church around the world celebrates the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in our midst. He draws us in faith and transforms to become more like Jesus Christ. May you sense the Spirit’s work in and around you as we worship God today.

Music Reading Class will begin tomorrow night at 7pm.  This class is for anyone who enjoys music but has never had the opportunity to learn it.  You are welcome to sign up for this six-week class at the back Sanctuary table.  Come discover how fun music can be!  The class is free and open to the public.

First Friday Prayer Vigil We invite you to take a prayer slip from the back Sanctuary table and remember the several needs of our church plants across Ontario.  We rejoice at how the Lord is answering prayer and anticipate all that he will do in the weeks ahead.

Church Membership Class will take place this Saturday (August 4th) beginning at 10am.  Learn what the Scripture says about God’s purpose and hopes for the Church, and how its 2,000 year history includes the story of the Wesleyan Methodist Church!  Speak with Pastor Pryor today if you would like to attend.

Thunder Bay Mission We’ve been invited to visit our church plant in this city and assist them with a weekend community festival on August 24th-26th.  Ready to make your first mission trip?  Pick up a flyer at the Information Desk today and learn how you can go on mission!

Holy Land Trip Options Recently two sister churches declared their plans to take tour groups to the Holy Land during the next year.  Islington Evangel Centre will travel in October 2018, and the Tamil Christian Church will travel in March 2019.  Both groups are open to including fellow Christians interested in participating with them.  See the flyers on the back Sanctuary table for more details.

Thunder Bay

Pastor Nathan Maskery has invited us to join their church in mission!  He recently wrote with this update…

Dear Milliken Church Friends, Thank you for being such amazing partners in the Gospel here in Thunder Bay.  This past year has been filled with amazing answers to prayer and life-changing decisions for Jesus.  But rather than tell you about them – let me encourage you to come and see!

Next month we would be honored if you could come and help us lead a Community Festival Weekend.  You have done this three times before and it was always encouraged.  We want to invite all our neighbors, provide a fun day for children, and give away all the school supplies we can.

I’ve already shared with Pastor George the ways we could use your help.  He can describe the details of our suggested plan.  We will gladly host any and all of you that come to visit and serve.  Meet our many First Nations neighbors.  Maybe your prayers and love expressed next month will be a key to their finding Christ!

Thank you for considering us a part of your mission in the world.  We are truly honored by your long-term interest and love expressed. We look forward to seeing you soon!

– Pastor Nathan
