Thunder Bay, Ontario

Transformation Wesleyan Church is the recently re-launched church plant in Thunder Bay.  This week we received an update about this ministry.

Dear Milliken Friends,

Ministry is going well here at Transformation Church.  We are just finishing our first Alpha program. We had at least 20 people attending each week.  Most of these are Christian believers, but four of those who came consistently are not yet believers.  We have seen all four of these persons take big steps toward faith in Christ.  Please keep praying for them.

Last summer we also met a young man who was going through a lot of personal difficulties.  He had lost his children and his job.  He wound up in the hospital after a suicide attempt.  But we started visiting him and showing the love of Christ.  In the fall, he prayed to receive Christ and has since gone back to work.  We are praying for him and believing God for a total transformation.  Please pray for him too.

During the last three Sundays, we have had over 40 people attending our Sunday worship services.  We want to begin a new discipleship program so that as we grow people will be able to plug into the community.  Please pray for us as we launch into this next phase of the ministry.  We so appreciate your ongoing interest and partnership us.

God bless you all,

Pastor Nathan Maskery

David & Olivia Phillips are grateful for prayer and financial commitments already made by several members of Milliken Church toward their vision of a new outreach ministry and Wesleyan Church plant in Toronto.  Additional support would be welcomed.  If you would like to give regularly toward this endeavour, through the church, fill out an information card from the pew rack in front of you.  Write your name and the words “Toronto Church Plant.”  Place this in the collection plate during our offering.  Thank you.

Young Adult Fellowship will meet this Friday (February 9th) at the home of Axel Kazadi.  This potluck event will begin at 7:30pm.  Speak with Axel today to get details or directions.

Mid-Winter Soup & Sandwich Luncheon will take place two weeks from today (Sunday, February 18th).  Our Social Committee will provide the soups and drinks.  All are invited to bring sandwiches or desserts to share.

Funeral Service for Rev. Ruth Willingham will take place on Saturday, February 17th at Central United Church in Waterloo, Ontario.  To learn more, speak with Pastor Pryor.

The winter issue Wesleyan Life, of our denominational periodical, has arrived.  Pick up your copy today from the table in the foyer today.  See how God is at work all across the continent.
