Thunder Bay, Ontario

Dear Milliken Church,

We are living in exciting days here in Thunder Bay! This month we decided to make a strategic shift. We will be “re-starting” the church with a new name: “Transformation Church”. We will host its first service on October 22nd. Between now and then we have planned lots of outreach events and community gatherings.

Our first big event was “Big Church Clean Day.” Several community members jumped in to help. We had purchased a barbecue, and fired it up to offer free food to anyone passing by. It was a joy to see curious neighbours draw near. So many neighborhood kids showed up that we ended the day with a big game of soccer baseball in the church yard!

This week we will give away 50 backpacks to children. These were donated when an anonymous donor felt impressed by the Lord to purchase these and send them to our ministry! God is so good!!

Keep us in prayer…that Jesus will be lifted high and bring transformation to this community!

– Pastor Nathan & Vicki Maskery & Family, and Tyler & Hannah Sears

Time to Pray We invite you to share any praise or prayer request you may have by completing a Connection Card from the pew rack in front of you. Place this in the church-shaped box at the far right corner of the platform. All will be remembered at the Wednesday evening Time to Pray gathering at 7:15pm.

Sunday School Classes will begin next Sunday, September 10th at 9:30am! Please see the display board at the back of the Sanctuary for a listing of the classes. Come to learn, share and grow in your experience of faith. Speak with Lance Alcindor to learn more.

Genesis: The Missing Piece of the Puzzle On the evening of Friday, September 15th Milliken Church will host a Faith Forum event for all the churches in our Toronto Zone. Calvin Smith from Creation Ministries International will share an apologetics presentation on the Creation Theory of Origins. A question and answer period will follow. Bring a friend for this great time of learning!

Movie Invitation A special showing of the film “Adam’s Testament” will take place at the University of Toronto on Saturday, September 16th at 8pm. We hope to organize a group to attend this event. Speak with Axel Kazadi to learn more.
